THE TAILOR OF GLOUCESTER

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your opening hours?

The museum and shop are open to the public daily from Monday – Saturday 10am to 4.00pm (Closed Bank Holidays, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day).

How do you become a friend of the tailor of gloucester?

Simply, click here to purchase the membership. You will receive a membership certificate via your email address. Or pop in to purchase in-store.

Do you charge for entry?

No.  Entry to the shop and museum is completely free of charge.

Are you an official Beatrix Potter attraction?

Yes.  We’re based in the building that Beatrix Potter sketched in her book.  You can’t get much more official than that!  All of the merchandise we sell are officially-licensed Beatrix Potter goods.

Are you the same as the Tailor of Gloster in Southgate Street who comes up on Google?

No, he really is a tailor!  We’re only a 5 minute walk away, just near the Cathedral.

Are you a profit-making organisation?

Although we are set up as a private limited company, we are largely run by volunteers with the objective of saving the building for Gloucester’s heritage and promoting the Tailor of Gloucester story.

Do you just sell Tailor of Gloucester items?

No. We sell books and merchandise for all Beatrix Potter’s stories.

Is everything you sell available on your website?

No, some items are just for sale in-store – so calling in is the best idea if you can.

Can you ship products abroad?

We can, but sometimes the shipping costs can be expensive.
